Death of a proxy - orville already a candidate

Hi All
I am doing the death of a proxy quest - I got the crown and cloth and had to deliver it to peasant Orville but he wasn't among the converted......now when my priest has to choose a proxy candidate Orville isn't among the choices, but he is wearing the crown and clothes of the proxy candidate.

I have tried to become friends with other possible candidate and asked them to become a candidate, this didn't work.

I have converted Orville and become friends with him....but still he isn't a candidate choice.

Where do I go from here?

Oh, dear. 

If he already has the vestments, I don't think you can take them back.

Does he currently show as Jacoban, or does your Priest have the option to convert him?

If you can convert him, try that, and see if you can advance the quest.

If that fails, and you have TestingCheats enabled (a different process than in TS3, requiring you to edit the game file), then I'd try shift+clicking the quest stage to advance it.

If that fails, you may need to abandon and re-take the quest, if it's gotten into a bugged state.
