More Frequent Deaths from Hysterical
« on: December 11, 2018, 12:58:33 PM »
I've noticed since getting Laundry Day stuff pack that my sims are often getting into the Hysterical emotion state.  Twice I've had to close the game without saving to 'rescue' a sim who was dying from laughter.  When they get the +2 Playful buff from wearing washed clothes, it's way too easy to push them into Hysterical if you have a lot of happy buffs, which I often do.  I've had to get a mod which does a bit of an overhaul on the Laundry Day stuff which includes modifications to the buffs from wearing clean clothes and replaces the playful buff with a happy buff.  Anyone else experiencing this?

I'll double check but I dont think my sims have a playful buff after wearing clean clothes. Just the happy ones when they're warm or pristine. Whats the description of the buff?

They do not. They have happy 2 when the clothes are pristine or have a floral scent and fine 2 when they're dry. But nothing playful. Has a SIM maybe added extra soap during the wash? Maybe thats done it? Ive added different flowers and so far nothing playful.

Warm Clothing (Playful +2) – Wearing clothing that was recently dried is like a big warm hug that goes on and on!

I'm now using the mod which changes this to a happy moodlet.  To recreate this moodlet, you'd probably need to have freshly dried laundry put away and then change clothes.  My problem is I have a toddler in the house as well and talking with a toddler often give the "Too Cute" moodlet which is also playful.  When these start stacking, BOOM - you're in hysterical and if you don't do something fairly soon (and hope it's noticed), you die from laughter.

My sim does indeed have a playful mood for +1 playful and with other happy moodlets I'm currently sitting at very playful. I also just watched a comedy special and I've added another +1 for playful but so far havent gone into hysterical.

I find the playful buff from laundry super annoying. My sims are usually around +12 happy stacked moodlets so even a +1 playful is easily enough to kill them. I now always check and if laundry has a classification of 'Warm' then I direct my sims to place it down and leave it until it needs washing again.

Exactly!  I'm using the clothes line as often as weather permits (which is better for energy conservation anyway).  Personally, I've never gotten a feeling of being playful from putting on something warm from the dryer.  It should just be a +2 happy buff.

Ive found if you always add flowers it turns the buff into inspired. That might help. That buff lasts a few hours and isnt dangerous. But I'm with you on playful. That seems dumb. Ive never felt playful when my clothes were warm from the dryer. Comfy would be a better word.

What would have been neat is if the Warm Clothing buff reduced stress quickly. That's true about the flowers, I always forget about adding additives!

Ohh thats a good one. Warmth usually does reduce stress. Maybe we can suggest a change to the buff from the gurus? Since it seems with toddlers around warm clothing makes sims was to hysterical themselves to death. Probably not a good thing.
