Editing NPCs in CAS
« on: November 01, 2018, 10:13:44 PM »
Hi, I used the cas.fulleditmode cheat to change my butler, maid and nanny. I changed pretty much everything...their sex, age, appearance and even their traits and ambitions. I even renamed them. I only have 2 households that uses these employees. My second household hired these services today and the butler, nanny and maid that showed up are the exact same ones. The game isn't randomly generating different NPCs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  :(

@siennablaise

I've had one save where I rotated weekly between 3 households and the game spawned 3 different nannies. I didn't use maids and butlers in that save.
In another save, the game spawned multiple butlers. I don't remember about the nannies. I hardly ever use maids unless there are vampires in the household.
In my current save, I'm on the 8th generation and 4rd nanny after the first two retired and I got the 3rd one "fired." I've had the same butler for 8 generations, and I adore him.
These 3 types of service NPCs are immortal, so my sim turned the 3rd nanny into a vampire which caused her to lose her nanny job.

So, in my experience, hiring a nanny or butler hasn't resulted in the simultaneous spawning of a pool of available service NPCs.
I don't know, though, whether my experience is universal or not.

It seems to be the norm that any rotated households you play will end up with the same nanny/butler etc.  I don't know if there is a way you can change that. Once the game has spawned in a sim for that NPC slot it doesn't seem to spawn in any more until that one is dead or unavailable.

Sounds like @oshizu  was lucky and her game spawned in quite a few NPC's.

Maybe try firing the CAS NPC's from one household and see if the game spawns in some new ones. Hopefully the CAS NPC's will sill be employed in your other household after you do that. Save before you make any changes as this game is a bit tricky around the handling of NPC's.

@oshizu and @Playalot , Thank you both form replying. Sorry it took so long to respond. Real life gets in the way sometimes...lol. When I started a new game It doesn't show any of the NPC problems I had in my rotational played game.I did try firing a butler but when I hire a new one the same one shows up. I may just kill off the butler to see if a different one is spawned. I wish a simmer could pick and choose the butler, nanny and maid like you can do when you pick employees for your venues. Thanks again  :)
