Joria posted this in the B&C Requests Thread, I think it was mainly directed at me because I had just finished Ruby's. I am making a world for Joria anyway.

samoht,  I have a HUGE request for you that will stretch your creativity to the max!  lol  Ok, first of all I know you have major time constraints, (school, own projects, rl, etc.), so please, no pressure.  This is a request based on my admiration of your skills, but I don't want you to feel any pressure or anything.  If it isn't fun, or is too much work, don't do it.  So, the request is, I would like a world called C&P Forum Valley.  It may have some hills, lakes, rivers, and lots and lots of lots of all sizes.  None of the lots need to be labled as anything particular except you can give street names to the streets, rivers, lakes.  The object of the world is to place houses, buildings, places of work, parks, and Sims we have created, whatever, that our forum members have created for this forum's use.  A home of our own, as it were.  It can have a modern downtown area somewhere, but I'd prefer more the village ambience we find in all the other places except BP.  A playable world completely made up featuring nothing but Carl and Pam's Forum stuff, (store items, freebies and OUR custom content ok, no 3rd pty cc of course and no mods).  Some trees are ok, (although we can always place our own with edit town), and spawners.  Other wise a mostly empty land for us to fill.  If this is too big, don't worry.  It's just an idea that popped into my head.

Also I was wondering if anyone who can use CAW would fancy helping out over in the B&C Requests Thread since there have been a few CAW requests, I get a few people helping out on Buildings but not many people know how to use CAW.
Please read the Forum Rules![/center]

I think this was mentioned when samoht04 built a world for Ruby.  What about the possibility of someone building a special Carl's Sims 3 World just for us to have?  If anyone feels competent enough to tackle something like this, I'd be glad to give the blessing of Carl and the Forum if it turns out to be a good world.  Our members might enjoy having a bug-free world that's an official Carl Sims 3 World.

Any thoughts?

My idea would be creating the world. That's actually what the title said, isn't it? Create a world. Well, why not create THE world: Earth? For me it is the only planet from which I am sure life does exist (correct me if I'm wrong), which I know because most of my life I have been hanging out there. So that will make an interesting add on too.
One city containing all the continents: America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. The problem is: it wouldn't fit.
It can fit, but that means that every country size will represent just one building or so, which doesn't make sense at all since I was thinking of having one neighbourhood per country build in the particular style of that country.
My next thought was: Than just Europe (sorry other continents). And even that will not fit. Europe has to many countries in it which results in the same problem as described above.
So, what we could do is for the people who like it to create their own country, state or whatever name of the place you live in to create a world in that particular style.

Nice thing to notice: Holland DOES actually fit. No wonder though; that small, inconspicuous country that looks a bit like a T-rex after the German Pacman has taken a bite out of it back in the '40's.

Sorry for the huge post, but it's worth reading!
I think it's better to leave real-worldish CAW worlds for other people to make. I mean, it's quite obvious that someone will eventually make their country in CAW and put it in the Exchange, because it requires almost no creativity to make it (since you have geographical references) and just as much patience as any other world.

What we should do, in my opinion, is make a world similar to Sunset Valley (as it was shown in another topic to be the most played one) in shape, with mountanous limits on one side, and water on the other. Beachy lots such as the community one, and some ocean-view residential ones are essential. There is no need to make rivers that cross the land itself, or lakes here and there, because we can just add small ponds with such as Pinocle Pond on lots with 60x60. Any decorations should be placed with Edit Town, and customized locations for the spawners. Lots that touch the road/street should be placed in CAW, though, considering that they tend not to attach to the street if you make them in Edit Town.

We would need dug-in areas, such as the mine-like area, the ponds, the stadium, etc. An elevated area is, in my opinion, a must. Those 4 lots up the hill in Sunset, and the hill in Bridgeport help you have an idea of how to progress as you get money.

Making an island, in my opinion, is a major lack of creativity. Most people who use CAW make islands because of the unconciously-input to their brains that just because it has water all around it (as you open CAW), it must be an island. You can set the camera limits so that you can't see past the mountains (such as in Sunset Valley).

Repeating myself from a post above, I would be happy to help on creating a world for this guide/forum's people (including myself). Perhaps some PMs with e-mails or msns from people with skills in CAW could be a good start. Remember, I'm a perfectionist, it may take a little longer, but I can say it will be worth it.

A few problems that hit my head as I thought of "Our Own World" are:
-The name*
-Main terrain color**
-"Wouldn't it compromise the guide's progress? Because if we make a guide for only our world, then people who don't play it won't be interested, which could reduce or deaccelerate our reader growth."***
-Which expansion each person has, as that can affect the availability of the world.****
-How to update the world; New expansions bring new lots, such as AMB and LN, and I can't stop thinking of a 60x60 pet shop lot that would come with the Pets expansion.*****

*We could make a poll or something. No offense to Joria, but I think that a world named "C&P Forum" doesn't match.
**I believe we all prefer green, with rockish-gray on the hard mountains, and sand by the beach, but who knows?
***Yes, we could have people who would play on the other worlds until they get a full guide. Anyone up to it?
****Perhaps making 1 world for each expansion? (One for Vanilla, one with ambition lots, one with late night lots, and one with ambitions+latenight lots)
*****We could just tell people what lot to move where, so you can fit the new lot... Like a topic "Where to put the pet shop in our custom world", saying stuff like "Move the Cosignment Store to the lot over there *picture here* and then you will be able to put the pet shop", or something like that (it was just an example).

I can't give you a specific reason as to why, but there's something about the idea of the forum's own world that does not appeal to me at all. If talented forum members want to create their own world and make it available to anyone and everyone on the Exchange, great. That's what that service is for. But, IMO, that's where it ends.

Okey people, there are actually a ton of videos on youtube related to using CAW, one better than the other and also available in multiple languages, if one is interested. So that is both good, bien and also goed (English, Spanish, Dutch).
That is also the reason why I will not make a video related to CAW in case anyone is wondering, because I do not feel the need. After all, don't change a winning number. ;)
Of course I will link some to the Favorite list on the youtube account to make searching for it even more practicle.
Any specific suggestions anyone? I'm asking, because with CAW I can actually choose over there.
