Pet Interactions

I'm having a problem where my pets will not leave my sims be! My sims aren't able to do anything because my pets are constantly taking over the action queue. Is there a setting somewhere to make the pets controllable or to keep them from bothering my sims so much? It's hard to enjoy the game when I am constantly having to get my sims to stop petting the dog every 3 seconds.

Welcome to the forum  If you download TwistedMexis mod that fixes the changes to cheats working/not working, pets are also selectable.
