Can't place outdoor lights

Whenever I try to place outdoor lights in my game all I get is a hand -- no lights. The lights can't be put out on the ground. This is something new that's been happening. In fact, placing anything from outdoor activities is problemactic. Placing anything inside the house is trouble-free.

If it's something that's just started happening, have you done any troubleshooting, like try a new game save and placing some outdoor stuff in that save.

Good point. I'll try to see what happens. The problem only affects a few families.

I tried the new game save for two families. It worked on one family but not the other. At least for the first family I'm able to place outdoor objects. Again, placing indoor objects is no problem.

Have you tried evicting the family and moving them back in or reset town?

Did you recently d/l a mod? Sometimes mods can mess things up. I thought of this b/c you said that it didn't work in a new game. Was it a vanilla game (no mods and no CC)?
