New to Sims 4, I've got a couple of questions
« on: September 09, 2018, 06:06:25 PM »
Hi guys, haven't played since Sims 3 and I need your help with a couple of things. How to use testing cheats enabled if you are on Origin? How to obtain a divorce and or break up a engagement? Can you still delete a sim from the cheat menu? OK one more-  How to turn an Alien baby to a human?

It's not through Origin that you enable the testing cheats. You enable them in-game.

How to: Turn On/Off TestingCheats

From Sims 4 Main Menu.

1. Load a game and choose the household you want to play.
2. Click the play button in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.
-- This puts you in Live Mode.
3. Once game is loaded. Click the Pause button.
4. Press Shift-Ctrl-C all together at the same time to bring up the cheat console or cheat box.
5. type in testingcheats on or true.
-- Once this is enabled, it should show you a message in the cheat console that Cheats are enabled.
At this point use the cheats as normal.
6. Press the ESC key or Shift-Ctrl-C again to exit the cheat console.

Deleting sims is now managed through the Manged Household menu rather from shift/clicking in-game. You can't change life states of sims really although there are cures for vampire sims. With cheats you can turn sims into and back from being a vamp... nothing like that for aliens tho that is simple to explain as it involves removing hidden traits that really can cause major issues in your game.

You can just click on a sim that your sim wants to break up with and choose the interaction divorce/break up/ask to just be friends etc in-game. They are under either mean or friendly social interactions, can't remember which.

Thanks for the help. I tried many times to get the "Ask to just be friends." response on the sim, my sim was engaged to, but alas...no luck, it won't come up.

Just use the mean social 'Break Up" then. It will also negate their friendship levels but that can be maxed out again anyway.

Just have a blast with Max Performer and use the mean social 'Break Up" then. It will also negate their friendship levels but that can be maxed out again anyway.

I'm relatively new to Sims 4 too. Can you get back together with a Sim you break up with sometime down the line or do they hold a grudge, so to speak?

Welcome to the forum, @SheldonB! Yes, eventually their dislike will return to neutral. Also your Sim can speed things up by apologizing and making other friendly overtures.
