Cooks won't cook

My Sims will start to cook a dish, pause themselves, stand there looking stupid, and then will walk away from the unfinished dish.  There is no way I have found to get them to finish cooking that dish!  If I finally give up and click on "clean up" they clean part of it and then throw the bowl or plank on the floor.  I have to either manually throw it away or click several times on clean up.  Is this a known bug?  It has happened to all the Sims in my household and in my club when they randomly cook.

Thanks Mrs. Flynn.  Tried repair game.  Didn't help even with reboot.  Removed cache files.  Still no good.  Move kitchen around.  Same answer.  FINALLY replaced my better appliances with the next level down and that worked.  With how long this bug has been around you would think they would fix it!

From what it looks like the report on AHQ has been marked as "Fixed". Which may mean the devs aren't really looking into it further unless it becomes more of an issue with more players. Sounds like it's not an easily reproducible issue. At least there are work-arounds for it.

This has been happening to me in my game from time to time too.  Usually if I reset the sim and then have her resume it works then. But it is annoying that it happens often :-(
