Changing apartments

If my sim currently lives in one apartment and buys a new expensive bed, gets married and moves into her husband's apartment and leaves the expensive bed behind, does the rent on the old apartment go up for the next tenant?  Does the furniture cost go up for the next tenant?

The furniture cost will go up but it may not be substantial seeing as it is only one item.
