How do I fix this corner issue for siding?

The siding isn't showing properly.

This happens when there is only one square between a bump out and the main structural corner of a building. Sadly I don't know of a way to fix it other than to move the bump out at least two squares away from each of the main corners.

A bump out that has a fence instead of a full wall doesn't seem to cause this issue which is why the upper story cornering looks as it should.

You unfortunately can't, but you can facilitate the same look by using pillars instead. If you got the Family pack, the Experienced Pillar or along those lines (it's one of the cheapest in the list) is the best one, because it's the thinnest and the most natural. Depending on the style you're going for, other pillars can work too, though.
