Progress won't stay
« on: May 09, 2018, 07:15:53 PM »
So, my Sims 4 isn't registering the things I do anymore. I listed some things I have found.
I can sell my restaurant, vet or store, and when I've done this, the restaurant/vet/store is still in my owned property list. I don't earn any money from it, the value of the lot only decreases. (youtube.com/watch?v=beRz5CHROXU) <- YouTube link to the video that shows this problem
When I use cheats to get my newly started family some funds (this was just to check if that works too) I give them $500.000+ and when I am trying to move it resets back to the starter amount.
When cheating my Sim up in his career because it didn't register me completing one of the skills, the career level got reset to before the cheat when going into CAS or any other screen.

I watched the video, but wasn't able to really see what the issue is. You didn't mention what you've tried to troubleshoot, but here are some tips to try to see if they help. Please forgive the repeated steps that you've already tried.

1. Move the mods folder to desktop (for testing purposes) - This is to fully make sure it's not outdated mods/cc or some hidden files in the Mods folder. - Read more in the post linked below:

How to Fix Problems with Mods/CC

Mods and cc become outdated as we get new updates for the game. This means you'll need to go through your mods folder to find what needs to be replaced.

2. Delete Game Cache Files (What and How-To)
http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php?topic=29288.msg401662#msg401662

The localthumbcache.package can be found in the main Sims 4 folder
C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

3. Create a new game save to see if you can recreate the issue.

4. Go back to a previous save that doesn't have the issue. (Before you noticed the issue)

Go Back to Previous Save or Rename a Saved Game

5. Deactivate Origin In-Game - In Origin > Application Settings > Origin In-Game and make sure it's turned off, as it has been known to cause problems with games.

6. Repair Game  - In Origin, right-click on Sims 4 and select Repair. - Do note this repairs the game's install files for the actual game. It does not make any changes to the saved game files. Meaning that your saved games are safe, they won't be deleted.

7. Try a Sims 4 factory reset.

Watched the vid, I'm guessing it's out dated mods that are causing you these issues. It is pretty weird that selling the lot doesn't register. Have you tried selling the lot when your sim is on his home lot? Not that this should actually make a difference but I'm just curious.
