Status on Sims 4 events?

Will we ever have any events, on the scale of the Growfruit, or Sugar Skull events, again?

We only seem to have these one week boost events & by the time I hear about them, they're on their last day.

I am not sure what the status is on events, as they don't seem to announce the events beforehand (?). The reason I left that as a question mark is I usually find them by loading up my game and find a pop-up message giving a little information on said event and then I'll go search on it to find more about it.

I wonder if the Day of the Dead will be an annual event. Some Day of the Dead celebrants appeared out-of-season last RL month in a friend's game.
He even got a sugar skull out of it!

Interesting. Maybe, I'll have to pay more attention. At City events, the townies all wear wacky outfits. I probably didn't notice.
