Pet lifespans?
« on: February 20, 2018, 04:37:20 PM »
I have seen the table on Carl's Guide that gives the length in days of each life stage according to the lifespan setting (Short, Normal, or Long).

The Elder stage is merely described as "Varies."
Does anyone have any information more specific than this?
For example, the elder stage also varies for human sims but we know that the average length is 10 days, with the Active trait or Long-Lived bonus trait.

Since the pet life stages seem to be roughly half that of human sims, does that mean that an elderly pet lives an average of 5 days on Normal lifespan?

I'm also curious what factors affect the variation in the length of a pet's elder stage. Size (like in real life?), breed, traits, something else?

Call me unadventurous for not wanting to discover all this own my own.
My sims' first pet just had their elder birthday and I want to be prepared.   :D

In searching I found this information:

Pet Lifespans Vary
https://forums.thesims.com/en_us/discussion/930272/pet-lifespans-vary

It doesn't give much information on what factors are taken into consideration, that I've read.

Thank you MrsFlynn.
I couldn't stand the suspense and just fed the dog an Age-Down Treat. :D
