Sorry to be a pain

when you bring up the chat options sometimes you will see feet or other things next to compliment etc.  What do those mean?

Hi, I don't think they mean anything really. In previous iterations the thought bubbles the sims had seemed to relate a lot more to what the conversation was about. TS4 has got better in this regard since launch but still a lot of them seem very random.

Wait, did you mean the sims thought bubbles or the interaction icons? Umm... just in case this is what you meant...

If you see sunglasses next to a friendly conversation option that is to indicate that using this interaction will level up the Charisma skill slightly. Conversations about skills will all level up that skill slightly so for example a conversation about fitness techniques will give that sim (the one you are controlling and the non-controlled listening sim) a slight fitness skill gain etc.

Hi @The Man, icons next to chat options can also relate to sim traits.  The pond icon is for loves outdoors specific options, there is a crib icon related to family oriented. 

The feet icon means that the sim may need to move to carry out that interaction. If the sim is sitting and you tell them to hug another sim then feet will show because they have to stand to hug.  Sometimes you get feet icon because the game thinks they are too far way from the other sim although if they are sitting they may not get up.

If they are in a club with a social interaction as a club activity then all the options in that conversation set will have a green thumbs up symbol next to it.

The feet icon should be showing up the in the action queue though, not the interactions menu.

You get them in the interaction menus as well

I think it's just saying the selected sim has to get up and move in order to perform that action.

If the selected sim was already in conversation with the toddler, then "praise" wouldn't have those feet.

wow @HelenP  I've never actually paid those icons any attention! lol. Amazing how I can simply ignore something that because I know what it means I don't have to think about!

There must be a million things like that in the game that I simply dismiss and not 'see' these days!
