Sims Moving on their Own
« on: January 08, 2018, 11:38:26 PM »
So, I posted about this in the Ten Gen Dynasty thread, but thought I'd throw it up here as well.

Now, I know all about the ghost problem, where the game likes to move the ghosts of deceased sims into houses.  This is a bit different.  My game seems to be resurrecting Sims fully and putting them in a new house.  For instance, Katrina Caliente had definitely passed on some time ago, Sim weeks, in fact.  But as my Sim was traveling, I did a look around, to see some prospects and lo and behold, there was Katrina in an apartment in San Myshuno.  Jacques Villareal (who died even before that) is also in San Myshuno, this time in the nice penthouse suite of the Spire Apartments.  The thing is, neither building actually lists them as inhabitants, unlike the other households that live there.  I've never had this issue before and wonder if anyone else has seen it?  And they aren't ghosts.  They are fully alive Sims from what I can tell.

Do you have a Wishing Well in your game? There's one in the Lost Garden Of Healing, ghosts can wish themselves back to life with that, though I don't know if they would do that on their own.  :-\

Another possibility is that the game created copies of them, it's an old bug that was around the time when Get Together came out, I thought it had been fixed but maybe it's back?  :-\ It might be worth checking your library and the Household Management bin.

Other things to consider, did you close them yourself using the Cloning Machine from the Science Career? Have the Ghosts been able to access Ambrosia? Or perhaps another Sim pleaded for their life with the Grim Reaper and he brought them back to life?

That's all I can think of, not sure if this has been helpful or not. XD

I do have a wishing well. Just as a note, these particular Sims have never been played.  So if they did themselves... That'd be a first lol Same with ambrosia. No one in this game can make it, as far as I know.

Don't have a scientist in this game either lol.

Perhaps it's that old bug. Or just a weird glitch. Was mainly curios if anyone eke had seen this before. The only actual problem with it is they are taking up housing space in an official dynasty, so waiting on replies there but thought I'd see if this has happened to anyone else.

I have had Sims cloned by the game before but only my own, however that was a long time ago.

I've not had any Sims cloned, then again, as much as I've played the science career, haven't done any cloning in Sims 4 yet.

Sounds like it may be because sims are being cloned by the game. I couldn't find the original bug report about this, it must have been buried when crinrict reorganized the site. I'm not sure there is anything you can do other than start a new game, which isn't applicable on your situation.

If it is the game cloning them chances are you'll see others too. Are you able to look at households to see or is that against the rules?
