Change the Lot Value

Is there a way to change the value of a lot to cost nothing? I already know about the "freerealestate" cheat but I just want to be able to set the price of individual lots.

By default you cannot change the lot value or set the price of an individual lot. It might be done with a mod but I'm unaware of any such mod. If you're interested, you could maybe ask over at ModtheSims or Nraas to see if they know of something.

If you go into edit town you can, provided it's not being used (in that case evict the people first), edit the house however you wish.  You can add rooms, floors, take them out...save it and add a copy to your library.  I do that if I see a house I would like my sim to move into but don't like certain parts.  By removing furniture you will also alter the price.  Hope this helps.
