I know a lot of you guys really like the gameplay that came with this pack, which is obviously fine, but I just got it for the stuff :P because I'm afraid of vampires, etc. --- anything to do with even a slight bit of gore!  I've always been that way.

Thanks anyway, Nindigo, for your suggestion of adding a vamp to my household (also, I'd have to kick out one of the Sims from my main family, and I'd be sad).  So, I can't do that.  Thanks for telling me to load up on garlic all over the place in their house.  I think I'll add some more to it, as well as to their camping house.

Let us know how the mod toggle thingy from TwistedMexi works out coolsims. I imagine it will do exactly what it says it will.

lol zero omega, quote of the week:
Maybe if it was a female vamp it wouldn't be so bad but getting a killer hickey from nosferatu is just wrong.

Try getting a dog. Apparently vamps are afraid it will defend its owner

I've always just locked the door if there's a vamp snarling outside. As long as I get it done quickly enough, the vampires have been unable to enter. It's a pain to have to unlock the door and re-lock it, though. I think the dog thing is a better idea now that the pets pack is out.

Some have the power to bypass locks and can still get in.

I had a sim in the science career and I had him use the sim ray on the vampire. Best thing ever.

I've had varying luck (mostly good) with locking the door for everyone as soon as I realize a vampire event is starting. The only vamp that wasn't stopped by the locked door was Vlad.  Of course, I had to remember to unlock it right after so my sims could go to work and school the next morning.

I also managed one time to wake my sim before Vlad got into the house. She talked with him a bit and then asked him to leave. That was actually kind of fun.

I've stopped Vlad with a locked door, as well. He does the creepy walk up to the door, then stands there snarling. One time he actually managed to wake my sim and do the mesmerizing animation right through the wall, but he wasn't able to drink. I was surprised a locked door stopped him, but so far I've never had a vampire get in as long as I got the door locked before the entering the house animation began.

A locked door doesn't stop them if they have the vampire power "Eternally Welcome", but it does if they don't. If you lock the door at night, have tons of garlic around, have your lot set to "Private Dwelling" and own a dog you pretty safe from vampire attacks at home. Each of these aren't a guarantee as dogs wander the neighborhood, "Eternally Welcome" and "Garlic Immunity" vampire powers do exist on NPC vampires, and on rare occasions vamps can show up despite "Private Dwelling" lot trait but to all four precautions to fail at once would take a perfect storm that the odds are extremely long on happening but is theoretically possible.

Or you can use the perfect answer play with a vampire yourself. That last one never fails. It is my go to method, not because I want to prevent said attacks, but because I just love to play as a vampire.

I actually would love a late night vampire visit.

We could spare or train once he/she realized there in no food for him/her at my home as we are already turned. As he/she is likely needing a drink I would even offer him/her a plasma fruit or plasma pack as I always have tons around. But sadly vamps don't tend to drop by other vamps houses for a quick bite. It is the one downside to playing a vamp. Well that and sunlight before you level up enough and invested enough powers to be immune to it.
