My new sim is dying of laughter....twice

Help please, anybody...
My new sim, Gwendelyn is dying of laughter...in front of her husband and child and twin toddlers!  What do I do to stop this?  The first time, her little boy pleaded for his mum... but as soon as she recovered, she laughed herself dead again...
This is too sad.  The girl toddlers haven't even learned to talk and now they're in mourning.  How can I stop this nonsense and return to potty-training?

Try having your laughing sim run to a mirror to 'calm down' the moment you start your game up again. Pause and direct the hysterical sim and then hit play. You can also direct them to nap or sleep until the moodlets count down.

The playful mood is one of the most dangerous as a good environment can tip a very playful sim into hysteria so try not to ever let the sims you care about get very playful, direct them to a mirror to calm down or sleep etc when that happens.

I have no idea why this ridiculous feature was implemented in the game, but you also have the option to use a mod known as CC Command Center which allows you to disable emotional deaths - among a lot of other things.

I know, right @Nindigo  such an annoying mechanic. Especially as when you actually want to kill a sim off they can stay hysterical for hours and not die. Incredibly vexing.

@Playalot I'm certain there are built-in taunt scripts that activate as soon the game senses we plan for something.

Once I built a death room by accident that just by walking in it made sims very playful and every object in it if used would quickly boost the sim into hysterical. The owner was turned into a an evil, playful and rich ghost sim who died of laughter in that very room.  Her goal was to humor as many sims to death as possible. She had over 30 tombstones in addition to her own before I got bored. This included her parents, husband, and teen twins daughters. She averaged 4 kills a sim day. I just wanted to see if the mechanic could be used to create a truly evil sim that could kill without cheats at whim and it can be done. Sadly it can be done way too easily. And with Potion Master reward the room wasn't even needed as a few jokes plus a happiness potion equals death in a very quick fashion given you have enough cash on hand. Serial killer sims are possible without cheats, and I doubt they planned it to be so.
