Hello again
My game finished loading, but after an HOUR AND A HALF and it works now, but I thought that maybe if I evict my household, save it in the library and then place it in a new town, it'll take less time to load.
I'm so sorry! Yeah, that's awful for the loading time. A new town should help significantly.
Here's some ways you can keep your load time down in the new town:

>Keep inventories as empty as possible. I highly recommend using chests from World Adventures or the Alchemy Cabinet to store things. Start putting any unnecessary plantables in the fridge, keep scrap in the Scrapatonic Workbench, etc. I usually just go to France (I love the look of those chests) and buy out 15 chests and just organize to my hearts content, but you could also just buy one and throw everything into it... whatever gets it out of your inventory. Less to load on startup and faster load times await!
>Try to not use too many trees/flowers/plants in your yard. I know it looks awful and bland, but the less your computer has to load the better.
>Use minimal CC and mods, as those can also bog down the game.
>Try to use minimal "clutter" (decoration items). Houses are not so great looking that way, but it helps keep the load time down.

You don't have to do this for normal files, but if you have one you want to play for a looong time, I highly recommend trying out the above.

I'm having the same problem right now I had already uninstalled supernatural, late night and world adventures and all I have installed is seasons and ambitions but I don't want to have to install them if I have to I will just uninstall seasons(my favourite one) :(

Hi Aynsliee,

Try a few troubleshooting steps before uninstalling anything else.

01.) Does this happen with a new game? If not, it maybe just that you have a bloated saved game. - A game that maybe too-large or too buggy to load. This happens from time to time, specially if you've been playing it for a long time.

On my older computer, it would actually "freeze" at almost full loading bar. It took it about 8-10 minutes to load. Specially with games that I had been playing on for a few months or more.

02.) Have you tried turning off Interactive Loading Screens? -- Go to Options (...) Select the gear tab, which is the General Settings, at the bottom of the menu uncheck the box labelled Interactive Loading Screens

Turning this off will help the game run a little more smoothly as well.

03.) Turn off Memories -- Go to Options (...) Select the gear tab, which is the General Settings and look for the word Memories and in the drop down menu select Disable Memories.

While your in this tab, it may help to make sure Enable Shop Mode and Lessons are un checked.

Turning off memories means less game bloat/overly large game save file.

04.) Delete Game Cache Files - (See link below)

Delete the Game Cache Files

05.) When ever my game becomes buggy, I do a factory reset. That seems to fix most problems. It's something that maybe worth a try.

[This is different from a total-game reinstall - This just sets the game back to factory default.]

Move your Sims 3 folder to the desktop or some where safe, and rename it something like Sims 3 Current. Click the Sims 3 icon to create a new Sims 3 folder.

Go To: ----> My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3

If you want to continue to play your previous game-saves, go into the Sims3 folder that you backed up and copy over your game saves, files and such over to the new game to see if that helps.

I hope this helps, :)

Hey, so I just recently downloaded a lot of the Expansion packs and I have installed three (Island paradise, Seasons, and Generations in this order) and I can run a game perfectly fine. But once I try to install another expansion, I log into the launcher and then the black screen comes up and it doesn't load after that. Before, I had only Late Night and High-End Loft (the starter pack) but I uninstalled them so I could play the others. Does anyone know how I could possibly install everything and it work? The problem might be because I'm on a Mac. Please, any help is appreciated!

Hi Courtney,

I am not a Mac user, but with the help of some of the fellow forum members, we have a thread that has some tips that may be helpful.

I've also found in my game that numerous street art tags/murals can cause my game to lag badly, particularly at loading. After my street art sims have supermaxed street art (I average around 65 street art murals before I get the number of masterpieces needed for that skill challenge) I go around and delete them all from my property. This probably also fits in with minimal 'clutter' and 'trees/flowers/plants'.

Deleting these means that it doesn't take as much time for things to render for me in game which means happier me. :D Additionally, you get a small amount of money for some of them, which can be be a help in the early days.

fast fix : (no going through all of your cc) helpeful if you have a ton of cc, mostly. if you want a fix that lasts forever, this is not for you. BUT this is an old post so hopefully my reply helps for any new comers searching for a fix on this problem. For CC mods, when in CAS. If you are having trouble saving because your sims etc. If your sim is loading nonstop while changing their clothes, just click on another outfit category. Example: if you are in the swimsuit category, and the sims begins to load non stop ; simply click on "formal" or any other catergory until you reach one where your sim stops loading. It will still keep the outfit you were using. Each time this loading happens, keep changing catergories on and off. when finished with all your clothing areas , simply go to a catergory where you notice your sim went back to normal. further examply: say my sim is nonstop loading while I am in swinsuits, but I am done and want to save. Just click (example) "everyday outfits" or whatever one works for yours, and then it will save and go back to normal.
