"Average" Joe Bauers is the central character of the Mike Judge film Idiocracy, where Joe is part of a military experiment to cryogenically freeze soldiers who enlist during peacetime, so they can be awakened to serve during times of war.
However, a scandal shuts down the base where Joe is enlisted, and Joe ends up forgotten for 500 years; he awakens to a society so dumbed down by mass media, advertising, and political slogans that positively no one thinks for himself or herself anymore - they let the government and advertising do all that for them.
I was pondering the idea of my first sim for the Playstation 4 version of The Sims 4 to be based on "Average" Joe Bauers; has anyone else even attempted that?
