Where do I find bugs and gems and seeds?

I have searched everywhere and have not been able to find a single bug, gem, or seed. Did they not add in the spawners or do I need to unlock the secret islands first? I am very new to sims 3 so explain in detail please.

There are 156 Insect/Gem/Seed spawners according to the IslaParadiso.world file and only five of them are on hidden islands. Another one (uncommon seed spawner) is located on Varadi's lot and the remaining 148 spawners can be found all over the world.

It make take a few days for objects to spawn and depending on which expansions you've installed they might spawn something else.

You may want to get the collection helper. When you get it, set it to what you want and it will show you where the collectibles are.

Thanks for the responses guys. I am saving up lifetime reward points to get the collection helper but it takes a while. I am also trying to find minor pets want them all. How do you read the .world file?

Which pets are you looking for? You can set the collection helper for turtles, snakes, rodents, and lizards. You can set it to find birds too, but those can only be watched or befriended. All other pets can be obtained by adoption or by becoming friends w/the strays.

All of a sudden I am finding a ton of them guess I just needed to wait for them to spawn lol.

LOL  Also if you have a pet, they can bring home lots of different critters.
