Confused about setImportedTerrainOffset (value) cheat?

I think I'm using this wrong. I've been putting it in with a value before placing the lot and nothing seems to happen. Am I typing it wrong maybe? Can someone give an example of what it should look like with the value typed in? And since it takes forever for my lots to place, do I really have to keep cancelling the placement until it's right? I've tried to find a tutorial video on YouTube and nothing. Would anyone be so kind as to link me to one or make one?

I was having a problem with lots I had downloaded either sinking down or ending up on a huge hill when placed on a lot. I googled it and there were several references to this cheat on the first page of results as a fix for it. It's in the list you get when you type help into the cheat window too.

It works for me! Open the cheat box and type just that, for example

setImportedTerrainOffeset 3

the 3 there will raise the height of the block of Lot you are installing. If you want to lower it, say to sea-level, use a negative number so

setImportedTerrainOffeset -3

when you've typed this, then install the lot as normal.

The only lots this doesn't work for me on are the community lots that came with Katy Perry. I have no idea why, but they usually seem to be flooded. And for a small park, that doesn't feel right to me!

There are some lots this cheat doesn't seem to work properly on, and I've yet to figure out why.
Yesterday trying to place a user-made house and it simply would not level. It placed the house always either too high or too low. I gave up and put it on another lot, where it worked fine. I didn't think the original lot was uneven.
Maybe it's a patch thing. Or a user-made world thing... IDK
