Fire and Locked Doors
« on: March 25, 2016, 07:06:07 PM »
I had a pretty ridiculous thing happen to me in game just now. I generally lock my child Sims' rooms to them alone so that visitors and family don't hog their toys/computer/etc. My child sim was experimenting on his potion set & set it on fire. Being a child, he could not put out the fire. No-one else could put out the fire either, as his room was locked (& I couldn't unlock it because the interaction was not available due to the fire). Of course no one could do anything at all since there was a fire on the lot. Eventually the fire put itself out.

Anything like this happen to anyone else? Any solutions? Is there a cheat that can be used to allow normal interactions with objects during a fire? I could of course just not have any objects that can cause fires in child-only areas, but still.

Hi Gilaniath, welcome to the forum. I must say I haven't had that happen to me but if you use the sprinkler system/fire alarm then they will drop down automatically and put out the fire with sprays of water. I don't know of any cheats that work during fire as the build mode, as you've said, it unavailable during an even like this. Perhaps 'resetSim ----' might have worked?

if your anything like me when you play your cheats are already enabled if so then shift click somewhere in the room and the option "teleport Here" will appear then you can teleport your adult sim into the room and extinguish the fire happy simming :)

Hi @gingersim420 welcome to the forum  :) playing with testingcheats on enabled permanently can sometimes cause issues with your game. I used to have cheats enabled 24/7 in previous sims game but with TS4 I only turn it on when I need it. (If you are getting exception files in your Sims 4 folder try turning off the cheats when you play and see if that helps.)
