After updating Windows, Sims 3 keeps crashing

Hi all,

A Canadian friend of mine, who is a member of a Star Trek rping group I'm a part of has recently had her Windows automatically updated. It no longer allows her to have more than two tabs open at a time in browsers and also crashes when she attempts to start up Sims 3.

She advises me that she regularly cleans the caches of sims 3 and also does the factory reset. Apparently Windows updated last night on her system and the problems have occurred since then. Do you think rolling back the Windows update would be her best bet?

Depending on what kind of update it was. That may not be a good idea.

We've tried to search on the problem and aren't able to come up with any recent solutions. Our advice is to try the crashing issue tips to see if any of them help. But I will keep searching over the next few days to see if anything pops up. As the Windows 10 update has been rolling out over the last couple of weeks.

If you've got Windows 10 and the Creators update it may be crashing the computer or games. Try turning off the GameBar, as it's known to be causing issues.

i have to wonder if this was my problem too. i've disabled all the gaming stuff and will see what happens next ... :sigh:
