My town's firestation has a weird bug: advice please

I am in Roaring Heights, I placed various things including a fire station. I have done the following steps in multiple towns with hitch.

I sent my sim on the first day to the firestation and joined the career and then asked for and received 5 days of unpaid leave. I worked his athletic and handiness skill at home (and rose to level 3-4 skill in each, and level 3 firefighting career) before returning him to the fire station in an attempt to maintain fire engine and alarm. He was able to do the fire engine without trouble, but when it came to the fire alarm, he flung his arms in the air and said there was something blocking him. (there wasn't anything that I could see). I then tried to upgrade the fire alarm, with the same result. I sent hm to each of the fire alarms at the fire station, and got the same result each time.

I have reset him, reset the town, restarted the save, cleaned the caches.

Any other suggestions for me - I don't play with mods at all.

Careers from Ambitions are pretty buggy. The only thing I can think of is try deleting the fire station and replacing it? Or have you already tried that?

I have yet to try that as yet, but I will.

Hey dear, have you tried moving the alarms? If I remember, it's the truck for one that's blocking.it might not be much but something close is blocking him.

Speaking of the Firefighter career, I'm having problems w/maintaining the alarm and truck, especially the truck. The maintenance was going to to 0 over night and within one workshift. I've had him working on the truck all day and now it  seems as though the maintenance is going down faster than he can fix it. Has anybody else had this happen?

with the alarms you can try deleting the alarms & replacing them. I've had beds & fridges suddenly become unaccessible for no apparent reason, and resetting the objects doesn't work, the only thing that ever works for me is selling the offending object & replacing it.


If that doesn't work, bulldoze the lot and just place a driveway with the truck & a single wall with the alarm and see if the alarm still doesn't work
(you can access the items needed by pressing cntrl + shift + c and typing testingcheatsenabled on, and then typing the cheat buydebug on. Then click the question mark in buy mode -> misc ->filter by expansion -> ambitions)

if in that test lot the alarm still refuses to work you'll probably need to re-install.
