Father and son relations is stuck at 50%

Hi everyone, from the above title, I've tried the cheat "modifyrelationship Chase Childers Christopher Childer 100 Friendship_main" with and without the testingcheats on.  It is still at 50%.  I've had 2 game weeks go by and there it sits (before trying the cheats).  Can anyone help me out.  Is there a bug or a different cheat.  I don't play sims 4 often.  This is my first family, single dad and son.  But I must admit, they did a good job with the toddlers, from what I've seen so far.

Normally that cheat works just fine, it does need testingcheats on enabled to work but try:

modifyrelationship Chase Childers Christopher Childer +100 Friendship_main

and see if adding a '+' in the cheat code does the trick.

I've noticed that cheats seem to be case sensitive. Try them with and without caps to see it if makes a difference.

thanks for the reply's.  I did get the cheat to work.  I had to quit the game, go back in and then it worked.  I had to apply it to both father and son.  Also they remained at 'good friend' rather than best friend.

However, the next time I played (later today) the cheat is gone and the relationship is back at half.   Hmmm...

I played for a couple more hours today, and nothing improved.  So I deleted the family and I'm starting over...C'est la vie

Just so you know sims in the S4 have to ask the other sim to be best friends. They will stay at Good Friends forever unless you use the friendly social 'become BFF'. Sorry you ended up having to restart, it is frustrating when glitches happen that ruin the way you want to play out a sims life.
