Sims 4 - Skill level cheat not working?

I can't get the skill level cheats to work. I've typed in exactly what it says on here but they are still on level 1. I don't get what I'm doing wrong?

Broken Skill Cheats is a known and reported bug. All we can do is wait for QA to patch in a bug fix:

You can always try copying and pasting the cheat in. For example you want your Sim to level up on painting, say max level of 10. You would then open the cheat console and copy/paste the cheat below into the cheat box.

stats.set_skill_level Major_Painting 10

Did you activate "testingcheats on" (without quotes) before typing them in? I believe they require that cheat to work.

Yes, testingcheats on must be enabled.

I've got all the different testing cheats on and type in the cheat to try to get my sim to level up on singing and its not working and I've tried it with out adult and with it in the cheat has any one got any suggestions?

It works for all of them but the cheats to level up skills for alduts witch i dont understand so was bit confused what i was doing wroung?

I have tryed all diffent combernations and what people have surgested on last post but thier not working the toddler ones do but the adluts and teen agers dont

The adult skill cheat is listed as

stats.set_skill_level major_X Y

where X is the skill (with some slight exceptions that I'll mention in a bit) and Y is the level you want it to be. All skill cheats MUST have testingcheats on (else they won't work) and must not contain any spelling or grammar errors, including the underscores and full stop. You will need the Sim you want it to affect as the active Sim.

That being said, a few skills have a slight exception to what they appear as in the skill panel (replace X with the following for the relevant skill):

Cooking: HomestyleCooking
Mixology: Bartending
Gourmet Cooking: GourmetCooking
Vampire Lore: VampireLore

The following replace the "major" word:

Fitness: Skill (Skill_Fitness)
Dancing: Minor (Minor_Dancing)
