about the cheats for building (the invention constructor)

 how to get/build the invention constructor into my house when i have a sim being scientist

I've only been able to find the Invention Constructor in the catalog (even using the bb.showhiddenobjects cheat) when on the science lab lot.  Unless there's another cheat I don't know of at the moment, it looks to be a science lab lot ONLY item.

One way for you to get the Invention Constructor on your home is take the science job and when you go to work to the science lot, go to build mode and build a room and put a Invention Constructor in the room then save the room to your library. When you get back home go to build mode and place the room you saved onto your lot and you should then have it at home.
Or you can go to the community gallery and search for science room. There are some there you can download and place on your home lot.

Be warned though if your sims are not on Scientist career, the objects do absolutely nothing.

Using Grimsoul's trick you would have a much bigger chance and another way to increase your scientists skill while at home.  More "Eureka" moments means faster job promotion.  Thanks Grim!

It's actually not that hard to get eureka moment. reading books is fast early in career. And when you unlock tinker, you just fill all the action queue with tinker on any qualified objects and finish all of em. This is more for people who want to make their home have science lab since all other objects are available for us but not this one.

I'd love to add it to my science room but unfortunately any of the ways to get it would break my dynasty. sigh

I'm confused. The "Invention Constructor" shows up in my lot's build mode under "Misc Electronics." I don't have any CC or mods nor have I cheated. It's just there. I bought it and put it down and the options I normally get are there (I have yet to test if my sim can complete any of the actions listed).

I think I remember it being there even before I took the science career. This is considering that I'm being affected by the bug that causes the "Connection" reward to skip my level 4 career reward :/.
