Can't upload to the Sims 3 Exchange

I have built about six new Sims inthe last month and tried to upload and share so that they could go in my studio and from there create an Avatar. I have had no luck yet accomplishing that goal. I took a random man or woman changed size, hair color and style, face, traits etc. Made sure I only used original parts and styles from EA. I uploaded the clothes I made for the Sim to make sure it was not the clothing, however, even though the clothes, shoes, etc. went through I have yet to be able to upload a Sim. What am I doing wrong?

It may not be anything you're doing wrong. There have been reports that the exchange is having problems both with uploading and downloading for the last long while.
