I'm not sure if it's because the clay is the fastest.  He just did some testing when it first came out and that's what he found.  But yes, the topiaries are separate and wouldn't be associated with clay sculptures.  I'd like for my Sculptor to make ice sculptures of different things, so I've got her making clay now to see if I can get some new things unlocked.

Yes, that indeed will work. The things that can be made in clay can also be made in ice. Would be cool if you made an nectar holder in ice and it would influence the nectars temperature positively.

I know one thing, I have a chess set made from stone and it is now worth 20,000 simoleons.  The other stuff that the sims have made have not appreciated near that much and the sculpture was maxed.

If you keep sculpted items long enough, they become very valuable.  One of the ice statues in my Clan Douglas Dynasty game was worth $33,000 at the end of the game.

Im going to try to do this sometime. Metropolis Man, if your reading this, you should make this a challenge but with aging on, you have to eat ambrosia and max all skills and the winner is the fastest finisher. That would be really hard/fun/cool.

I'm making a max skills sim, Ambrosia Dainty. I don't want her to get celebrity points though, thus I failed my last attempt when I stupidly left story progression on. I will be remaking her shortly, and she shall be greater and more freckled than her previous incarnation!
