The Book of Life Broken

Did anyone else notice that the Book of Life broke last November?? It no long can be read by your sim to refill his or her needs. This made me so upset that I have completely stopped playing, waiting for it to be repaired. Please help if you have the fix for this.

There's a bug thread on EA answers, no fix yet but the more people who 'me too' the first post the likely the devs are to fix it.  For now the Book of Life can be read by another sim who is not on the same lot as the sim it's bound to, and will refill bound sims needs.

Thank you for responding so quickly!! I’m going to go try having other sims read the book and see if it works and makes it fun to play again. And I “me too-ed” the bug in the EA forum. Hopefully more people will read this and do the same so that we can get it repaired!

Going to try it out now. Maybe I'll actually get to enjoy playing again!

Just a bit of (almost) good news that cheered me up! The help team has officially acknowledged that this is a problem that they're working on!

I was looking at the Book of Life thread on EA Answer HQ 2 days ago as I'm playing a Bestselling-Author in my Townie Dynasty.

Thanks @oshizu  I'd seen that and was hoping it was something else. Often the QA's will pop in and post on the bug threads but that isn't always indicative of a bug fix any time soon, sadly. Most often it is an attempt to appease angry simmers and keep the bug threads from being derailed.

Oh, I didn't know that was the typical behavior for them I got my hopes up and everything.

I know, that's the problem, it does get your hopes up when the QA's pop into a bug thread. It doesn't have any implications of time though, just means that the bug is on their list, along with all the others.

The QA's on twitter always respond with something along the lines of 'we are aware of this issue, thank you for the additional report'. Same deal, not an indication of a fix in any time frame, just an indication that at least the bug is on their to-do list!
