Space Blocks

So one thing I'm having zero luck with - getting gems from breaking space rocks.

I have 2 martial artists in the family, I've set both of them to breaking space rock boards non-stop (until their hygiene, hunger, and energy were red), neither of them have gotten a single gem.

Any help would be appreciated - I'm starting to get annoyed with always going to to the collection helper and miner. ;D

The chances of your martial artists getting gems will be a lot higher after they've completed the timber terminator challenge.  Even then, they won't get gems every time.  It's also my impression that they get more gems if they have the Disciplined trait, but this might just be because they're more likely to have done a lot of board breaking.

Like Schipperke said you either will either have lower chances without the timber terminator challenge or not be able to break them at all! I usually don't go above oak boards before completing the challenge because I don't want them to have a hurt hand. Maybe quitting and restarting the game would fix it also!

Hmm, pretty sure Mitchel Wainwright has the TT challenge, but I'll double check. I know his daughter doesn't, though, she thinks timber is too wimpy for a vampire.

Thanks!

Hi inclement and welcome to the forum.
I personally would advise you to skill your sims a bit in athletic to, pushing weights. Because if you fullfill the Body Builder challenge, your sims will never get tired from a powerweight training. Breaking spacerocks also do count as something sims can get tired from resulting in a forced break for the next 8 hours in which they can't break space rocks.
If you fullfill the Body Builder challenge in combination with the Timber Terminator, your sims can cut space rocks until their energy bar is low.

For more information you could look at the site, under Timber Terminator. I can not link it here now, because I'm using my mobile to type this.
Good luck!

Really? Wow, I did not know that.

I usually limit my gym to the treadmill and training dummy.

Thanks!

No thanks. Glad to help. :) Press J while you are playing your game. The skill menu will popup with more detail on how to supermax out your skills. After all, reaching level 10 in whatever skill in this game isn't everything. :D

That is very true.

Getting to level 10 in all skills, however... ;D

Naa, not really. Already done that. The trick is to fullfill every challenge. ;)
But that keeps this game pretty exciting you know. The truth is that the order in which should be learned first is very important. But that's another story. Good luck with breaking space rocks. It's a fun hobby.
