Secret World Possibly in Forgotten Hollow?
« on: January 29, 2017, 12:13:02 PM »
So I found this in Forgotten Hollow. It looks a bit like the secret world entrance in Oasis Springs plus there are a TON of bats, but I am not able to interact with it at all. Anybody know if it's just decoration or is it one of those secret entrances?

It's just a decoration. Bats do come flying out of it occasionally, though.

If it is any consolation the sound the bats make at night as they come flying out is very atmospheric. (Sorry...lol that is not really any consolation at all!)

I think the bat cage is cool.

I was also thinking it might be a secret area. Maybe it will be with some future patch? There are also several sculptures that can't be viewed like normal ones - maybe this will be fixed, too. Can't hurt to hope :)

I would be seriously surprised if they ever added to the neighborhood as the developers have previously explained that altering or editing existing worlds would render everyone's current games broken beyond repair.  :)

@Playalot It's often a standard feature in games nowadays that updates, patches and expansions also enhance the existing game world, but I won't argue. I've no idea how The Sims works in comparison on a technical level.

@Nindigo  I agree. It seems thought that TS4 worlds are somewhat different. The discussion actually came up on the official forums where members were wanting to know if swimming in open water was actually technically feasible and if so in the current worlds. The answer from the developers was while open water swimming was technically possible it would never be in any existing worlds due to any changes being made would render current saves broken. Then went on to explain this was why there was never any changes to existing worlds etc etc.

I can't find the conversation but if I do I will link it here and tag you.  :) Also noted that we never quite got a straight answer about whether we would ever see open water swimming in TS4 lol

I brought a vampire to Sylvan Glade's hidden world so he could fish and find lots of frogs. I was fishing and realized that when you are in that hidden world you can be in the sun all day. Vampires aren't bothered at all by the sun there.

I fished and frog hunted all day :D

Also in Sylvan Glade, little fairies are flying around (colored balls of light) and are laughing with mousy voices! It's really cute and magical ;D

Wow that is good news! I hope that's not a glitch! Thanks for the info though and I will definitely try it!

Between the dark meditation and being able to turn frogs and fish into plasma packs you can stay there forever and I really hope they never fix it ;)

Ironically, I think a Geek, Curator, Master Angler vampire with exactly the right vampire perks might be the fastest and best natural resource gatherer possible. Loner works thematically with vampire, but add "Loves Outdoors?" Ha! Only at night, at first. Though I do have fond memories of midnight hiking and night fishing from my youth. So maybe not that odd, just very specific. I think you could work as a Scientist, if you got inside fast, and ignored "Collection Days" at first. Eventually that could be managed too.

It is something I want to try one day. Maybe combine it with a homeless start? They would of course, start out without any of the perks. It's the sun, quick, nap inside businesses all day! Buying your first tent would be grand. Only gathering at night would be a sane limit on the usual gathering money pump. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Like the way you think @Hechicera  I'm just playing through a homeless vamp now.  :)
