Visiting Sims
« on: January 21, 2017, 09:33:17 AM »
Hey guys! Haven't been here in a while but glad to be back. :)

A question: Which sims are able to visit your lot autonomously?

Some sims (mostly friends) come by and knock on my sims doors without my invitation and I want to (possibly) know if it's determined by friendship level, etc. If it was, I would like to know at how high a friendship level they start.  ;)

Good question.

I have seen Sims I've just met, and with a very low friend bar show up. I think some of it is weighted on how recently any in-house Sims interacted with the visitor Sim as well. Some Sims that have a higher friend bar can show up less if you don't interact much. Neighborhood may also matter, or maybe it makes it more likely you had a recent interaction. One legacy "spare" I moved out to next door showed up often, then less. The next time I was in Manage Worlds, I noticed the game had moved her and the niece to a house in a different neighborhood. That's what I've noticed, but it isn't really a complete answer. Sorry.

To add to what Hechicera said, neighborhoods do make a difference. The are where Johnny Zest lives in Oasis Springs (in a new game) is the best for walk-bys and even complete stranger sims visiting compared to the island in Windenburg where visitors are non existent.

If you have City Living giving out your apartment key means that you'll pretty much have those receiving sims visiting non-stop!

Thanks  ;) I'm doing a weird playthrough of sorts where my sims can only go out to town once a week to make friends, so it's very hard upkeep the relationship with that set-up. I may have to rethink it.  ::)

I do also notice that if you become best-friends with someone, they practically come by everyday, or so it does in my game. But they cannot be best friends with everyone in any case.

Great note on the City Living EP. Hopefully I get to have it soon. :)
