Sims 3 Is Very Slow and Choppy
« on: January 02, 2017, 04:02:32 PM »
For some time now, my sims 3 game has been very slow and choppy. It seems like the frames are loading one per second which makes this great game unplayable. I play with all the expansion packs except showtime and into the future along with some mods and CC but this has never affected the game. I feel like I have done everything to fix this issue including deleting mods, CC, all of my words, clearing the DCbackup folder, running the game without CC, checking my graphics card for updates, and even doing a factory reset on the game.
After all this time I do not know what to do and I am hoping the community can help. I am putting some of my computer's system info below in case a problem lies there. Thanks in advance for the help!

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 10 Home
Version: 10.0.10586 Build 10586
Processor: AMD A6-6400k APU with Radeon( tm ) HD Graphics   (2 CPUs), ~3.9GHz
Available OS Memory: 7,370MB RAM

Thank you for letting us know what you've tried. That is -very- helpful!!

Here are a couple more things to try, if you haven't.

1. Try disabling Origin In-Game

Open up Origin, Go to Game Library. Right click on the game, and select Game Properties, Uncheck the box to disable Origin in game.

2.Look over and get rid of the extra stuff your sim family members may not need anymore in their personal inventories as well as the family inventory. As stuffed inventories cause lag, that eventually leads to crashing.

Also, having a large house with a lot of landscaping and a lot of furniture and decor will cause lag after awhile.

3. Check your game options. Sometimes lowering in-game graphics options help. As well as turning off memories, and the interactive loading screens.
