City Living Social Career meeting new people

Hello! Long time simmer here and first time posting something.

I just purchased City Living i like it so far.
Just started the career Social Media and i need to travel
to different parts in town.

Questions:
- Is it right that if i want to travel to another part in town i need to
select for example the gym to get to that part of town?

- I need to meet new people in every new parts in town. When i do that
and talk to the people it doesn't count up for my job achievement.

Sorry for my bad English, i'm originally dutch...

Q1: Yes, you would select the Waterside Warbler to visit Spice Market or, as in your example, select the Gym to visit that part of San Myshuno.

Q2: You must be doing the "Work from Home" assignment for the Social Media career.
       If I remember correctly, you need to use the "Get to know" social (in the Friendly menu). If you don't know the sims, you'll need to introduce yourself first.
