Moodlets not making sense?
« on: December 06, 2016, 08:30:52 PM »
My sim is pregnant and dating the premade Travis Scott, who lives with her and her best friend. He has never been flirty with anyone else, even when in the flirty mood. When they were both at work, she got the moodlet about him flirting with another sim. His relationship bar shows he's never even met his coworkers and he was definitely not at home. When she gets home to talk to him, she gets the 'talking to an evil sim' moodlet that she sometimes gets from having the good trait. He has the exact same traits as he was made with and was only using friendly interactions. could these be a mistake or am I missing something?

Hi @racheliz  Welcome to the forum.  :) Is this the original Travis from a new game or is he downloaded from the Gallery?
Sims that have had their traits changed in CAS leave behind hidden elements of the removed traits so if he has been changed etc then the moodlets may be left over from previous 'versions' of him.

Also is the other sim jealous? They get weird moodlets that are obsessive and plain nuts about their significant other. I love that trait! lol

In different games, I've had a couple of Sims marry Travis --- even my first Sim ever married him, and he is always a great choice to marry.  Originally, he has the computer whiz aspiration and geek, outgoing, and self-assured are his traits.  Because he's a computer whiz, he also earns the quick learner trait.  He's never flirted with anyone, so, I don't understand why she would get the "talking to an evil Sim" moodlet --- unless someone changed his traits if you downloaded him from the gallery --- as @Playalot said.

Now, I make my own Sims, but Travis is a nice guy in new games.

Thank you both  :) This is my first time on this specific forum so not sure If I need to tag you guys or not. He's the original Travis from a new game, not from the gallery. I guess the 'evil sim' moodlet could've possibly been from chatting at work? She's  a surgeon and this was RIGHT when she got home. I dont like seeing my sims getting cheated on though, so I'll just see how the relationship goes from here

Hmm, that does make things a little different then if it is the original Travis. Maybe try deleting the localthumbcache.package file from your The Sims 4 folder. I do this after every play session as it helps to keep the small glitches etc at bay.

And yep, @racheliz tagging is good as although I try to remember to recheck any replies I've made a tag lets me know that there is a post.  :)

*edited: Another thought: if you are using any CC or mods they could be causing issues to.

You're welcome @racheliz :), and welcome to the forum, by the way!  You don't need to tag anyone.  It's up to you 8).  However, it is helpful.  The evil sim moodlet probably was from speaking with an evil Sim at work.

You can change a Sims' traits by using a cheat.
1. Open the cheat console by typing control, shift, c at the same time.
2. Type in: testing cheats on
3. Press enter.
4. Type into the cheat console: cas.fulleditmode
5. Press escape to exit the cheat console.
6. click on the Sim and select Modify in CAS (short for Create-a-Sim.)

In CAS, you may change your Sims' aspiration, traits, weight, appearance, voice, clothing, marital status, age and clothing, etc.
The Sim does not need to be in your playable household for you to do that.

Therefore, you follow your Surgeon Sim to work, if you would like to check a co-workers' traits, then, you may enter CAS to fix any Sim you want.

You may check your Sims' relationship tab --- under romance --- to see if they have been cheating.  If they have, you may go into manage worlds, and trash the cheater Sim.  Then, the cheater will cease to exist --- without any messy "kill the bad Sim" plans or fist fights :P.

Just to add about using CAS cheat to change your own sims age: use that with caution as it can wipe reward traits (from completing aspirations) from your sim and because the aspirations are completed there is no easy way to get these reward traits back.

@Playalot, you mean if someone ages their Sim back to a teen or a child because they need to be at least a young adult to complete aspirations, which count "become an adult," as part of their milestone, right --- or is there another reason?

@racheliz --- If you mess up, you could use the cheat aspirations.complete_current_milestone
Select all the text in the cheat console (control a), cut (control c) and paste (control v)  the above cheat into the cheat console after testingcheats on, and use the cheat to complete the entire aspiration --- keep pasting it until all of the milestones complete, and then, the aspiration will be finished.

However, it is nice sometimes, to play without cheats.  I didn't know any cheats for awhile when I first started to play TS4, and I'm glad I had the experience of not using cheats for anything.  Then, I found out about potions, and then, I discovered cheats.  Both ways are fun to play.  However, if you have a lot of packs, then, cheats enable smoother, more entertaining game play.

@coolsim9999999 if you age up a sim there can be major problems with the cheat. It really is best not to use the cheats to age up a sim but rather an in-game birthday cake. It's just as easy and causes no glitches/bugs etc. You can always take the aged-up sim back into cas.fulledit mode and change the looks etc from there anyway.

Also removing traits using the cas.fulleditmode cheat leaves behind the hidden attributes of each trait so you need to select the sim after removing the trait and apply the cheat traits.remove_trait [trait name] to avoid getting the whims and buffs from the removed trait on the newly changed sim. Of course this doesn't really matter for non-played townies and NPC's etc as you don't have to deal with the random buffs.

I'm no stranger to testingcheats, in fact I'm a little too comfortable with them but trying to use them less and less  :) at one point I did change self-assured to ambitious to get him a faster promotion, but after I changed it back to self-assured. Coolsim- there were no romantic relationships that I could see in his relationship panel :( im thinking it was a glitch

Playalot, I'll try your recommendation with removing the package file

@Playalot --- Those are really good points.  Thanks :)!  I think I only used it to deal with age with my main Sim family, and I was probably lucky that my game didn't have any problems.  I agree that it's not any harder to use a birthday cake to age up a Sim.  I need to fix my previously gloomy butler by using traits.remove_trait [trait name].  I was wondering how to avoid getting whims, etc. from a Sim's previous traits.

@racheliz --- I'm glad you know about testingcheats --- if you need them :). It's great that his relationship panel did not show another romantic relationship!  Is the glitch fixed now?

Hey guys,

Just feel like adding that the NPC doctors in my games are always evil :-\ Could this be a tiresome reference to Austin Powers?

Also, Sims seem to be super touchy-feely about partners glancing the other way. I have given up on trying to force my Sims to be 100% faithful...they simply refuse. Also those not named Don Lothario for the record.

Cheers,
