Possible Glitch and an Unwanted Boatload of Money!

I play the sims with and without cheats: I like using cheats for some specific games but most times I'll play a sim or family from the get-go without any cheats. My most recent Sim is trying to become a Distinguished Director and I'm playing without cheats. He's is currently at 2nd Unit Director (7). He recently wished to be turned into a vampire, so Emmy Starr turned him... and he had about 11,000 in the household funds. Then, randomly, upon fulfilling one of his wishes, all of a sudden his household funds had 105,000 MORE dollars in it. I missed which wish he fulfilled or I'd tell you... I mean, normally I'd be thrilled to have that much money, but that seems like a huge mistake to me. Does anyone know how this could have happened, either as a glitch or somehow legitimately? I tried to provide as much background information as I could remember which is why I included all that I did... any and all help would be appreciated!


EDIT: Two things: I remembered, the wish was to "Drink Plasma Juice" and I'm not sure if the fulfillment exactly coincided with the extra 105,000. Also, I wasn't 100% sure where to put this thread since it's money related but also a possible error so feel free to relocate.

We've had reports of money randomly appearing for no reason.  Sometimes the amount matches the price of one of the cars available in the game.  It's just a glitch in the game with no real solution.  If you want to keep your game pure with no "cheating" money, you can maybe purchase an item(s) to total $105,000 and just keep them unused in your family inventory, or you could open the testing cheats window (Ctrl+Shift+C) and type "familyfunds XXXX" with the amount your family funds should be.

Thank you kindly! Also, as a side note, the familyfunds cheat and one or two other cheats never seem to work for me. I get an error that says "Unknown command: familyfunds" Any idea about that? I'll just purchase the car and keep it unused, thanks for the help.

You have to write "familyfunds [household name] [amount]" (skip the quotation mark and square brackets when typing) for it to work, as is detailed here. You also need to have the cheat "testingcheatsenabled true" on for it to work.

Not sure if you tried this, but the family name is case-sensitive. So if your family was Smith and you wanted to give them 1,000,000, you'd type:

testingcheatsenabled true <enter>

familyfunds Smith 1000000

It's the only way I can get it to work, and only after I am playing that specific household - never has worked from the edit town or choose household screen for me.
