So my (single) Sim adopted a child, and has since started dating another Sim and they are now in a relationship (though not married yet). I'm wondering if there will be at some point a way for this other Sim to also adopt the child, or are they just destined to be, at most, "best friends forever" with their partners child? If the 2 adult Sims get married, does the adopted child automatically become the "son" of the his adoptive mother's new husband?
What if she had had a biological kid with someone she wasn't married to and then ended up being a relationship (and/or getting married) with someone else? Does that new Sim become the "father"?
I've always played the traditional way (have 2 Sims who fall in love, get married, then have children, etc.) so I thought it might make for interesting gameplay to mix it up a bit this time around, lol.
Oh, and if it makes any difference to my query, the only expansion pack I have is the latest one ("City Life").
And, side topic, maybe I'm asking for too much here but I kind of thought there might be just a *little* bit more of a challenge when adopting a child (an actual child, not an infant/baby). They just walk into your house and accept everything and play with you and (presumably) love you. You don't have to do much (/any) relationship building with them. Would be cool if they kinda came in with a chip on their shoulder and maybe acted-out, and you have to gain their trust, etc. Oh well, not complaining I was just surprised I guess that they just walked into my apartment and accepted their new life with me, lol.
