Mixology: Make Drink(s)... for Everyone

Does anyone know what determines whether a sim mixing drinks will have access to the "Mix Drink(s)...for Everyone" option?

At the very end of a dinner party, the last party goal was "Have sims drink at the same time 0/3."
Ultimately, I had to have one sim go to the Fountain of Mirth and another go the fridge for orange juice, because...

because my Master Chef sim at the bar could only make one drink at a time, which of course he chose to drink himself instead of proceeding to make the next queued drinks.
I don't understand why he didn't get the Make Drinks for Everyone option, since there were 8 sims seated at a table right in front of him.

Any suggestions about triggering Make Drinks for Everyone would be highly appreciated!

I thought it was as simple as being in a group conversation and then you can 'make drinks for everyone' in the group.

If you don't have the option for everyone, have them serve wine. It's instantaneous and they don't drink them autonomously when making them.

When I checked just now, I had the club off (because I often am unable to "Call for Meal" if a club gathering is in session). I wonder if the sim couldn't make drinks "for everyone" because ending the club dissolved the group. Hmmmm.

That is an awesome trick with the wine! Now I won't need to constantly hover around a sim who's doing the "Mix 10 drinks" goal, hehe.
