No Bonus (Aspiration) Trait for Sims born in game?

I noticed that my Sims who were born during gameplay (as opposed to created in CAS) do not have a bonus trait -- the one related to aspiration. 

I know that once this trait is assigned, it does not change even if aspiration changes, but my sims aren't getting it at all, if they came into the world as babies.

Is there any way to get this extra and very helpful trait.

The Bonus Trait changes from the child ones to the adult ones once you choose the adult aspiration when the sim has it's teen birthday. So are you not seeing the adult bonus aspiration trait in CAS as you are choosing the adult aspiration or does it not show up in game when looking at the sims stats etc with the UI?

What do you mean by 'born during gameplay'?

I often had this issue with sims who were born/aged up to teen as townies. I remember moving Olivia Kim-Lewis into my family as a teen and she only had 2 traits, but it was never an issue for sims I was playing controlling (my teens always got their bonus traits).

To give Olivia her bonus trait, I just went into full CAS mode (the one that lets you change traits). I changed her aspiration to something else, then back to whatever it had generated as, and when I exited, she had the bonus trait. It's kinda cheating, but in my mind, cheating to fix game glitches is mostly fair go.
