Haha, Jenna compensates for eating both cakes with a masterpiece portrait.
How nice to have captured Liam at all three stages of his growth!
Congrats to Liam on completing a career and on his A grade!
That picture of Joe playing a multi-player game by himself was sad.
So glad Jenna was successful in extending his life a little longer!
Aww!  I totally did not notice that Joe was playing a multi-player game.  He picked it himself, I swear!

Awww, Jenna to the rescue.  Grim is just such a sentimental guy I guess he couldn't bear to see the lovebirds separated  ;=)
Yeah, sentimental Grim gave us a reprieve, but as you know, it won't last.    :'(

So glad pleading with Grim worked!
Me too!

Yay!  Way to go Jenna!  Both on the masterpiece and the pleading.  Losing sims is always hard.  Glad her pleading worked.  Liam is sure going strong, too!
I agree!  Even on a short challenge like this one, I get attached.  Can't help it.

Liam is so handsome! I love the portraits. Such a nice idea.
I cracked up about your notes to yourself! Lucky you're able to interpret them. I feel like I write notes to myself like that all the time and I never have any idea what I was trying to remember. :)
Really nice work on maxing the job early and getting the A grade, too!
I'm particularly glad Joe got a little bit of extra time. Way to go on the pleading, Jenna!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who writes myself notes.  The hardest part is matching the notes to the screenshots.   :)

Re: The Murray Wonder Child Project: Really, Grim?

Really, Grim?

A day and a half after his first visit, the Grim Reaper returns for Joe.  This time, the game informs us that Joe is gone for good.
8a Joe death.jpg

The whole family feels the loss, but obviously Jenna takes it the hardest.
8b Jenna grief.jpg

Jenna is not one to be idle, even in grief, and soon she is channeling her feelings into her paintings.  This one kind of speaks for itself.
8c Jenna paints.jpg

Slowly, but surely, life goes on.  Young Leo is a cheerful Sim, and simply cannot stay down for long.  He decides to learn how to cook and finds that he really enjoys it.
8d Leo cooks.jpg

As for Liam, he must now earn as many skill points and reward traits as he possibly can before his young-adult birthday.  Such is the life of a Wonder Child.
8e skills.jpg

One of the skills that Liam is trying to max is Mischief while simultaneously working on the Chief of Mischief aspiration.  Therefore, it is necessary for him to be disliked by two Sims.  He tries to get this woman to dislike him by implying that her mother is a llama, but rather than getting angry, she becomes flirty instead!  Hmmm…elders can’t actually flirt with teenagers, but she’s in such a flirty mood that she keeps reacting positively to everything Liam says no matter how insulting.  Guess he’ll just have to make an enemy elsewhere.
8f Mischief starts.jpg

When a notice pops up that the Humor and Hijinks Festival is in town, Liam knows that it would be the perfect opportunity to max his Mischief skill and finish the corresponding aspiration once and for all.  However, Liam is reluctant to leave home because Jenna has already received her final notice from Grim.   Jenna insists that Liam go to the festival, but she agrees to tag along and bring Leo with her to prevent Grim from coming while Liam is gone.

“Are you sure you’re okay, Mom?”

As soon as they arrive at the venue, Jenna hears the ominous music.  Smiling bravely, she sends Liam off to the festival while holding Leo back with her.  A crowd of employees from various food stalls at the Humor and Hijinks Festival begins to form around Jenna and Leo as the Grim Reaper approaches.  Leo pleads for his mother, and it works!  Maybe Grim just wants to show off for the crowd who (except for Leo) are all ladies.

8i Jenna saved.jpg

Jenna is understandably exhausted after her near-death experience.  She heads to the nearby Casbah Art Gallery to find a nice couch to rest on and sends Leo to the festival.  Leo wants to take his mother home, but again, Jenna insists.  She says it’s very important that Liam max Mischief.  Leo doesn’t understand why, but he can’t argue with his mother so he does as he is told.

Liam is unaware that any of this is going on and joins the Pranksters at the Humor and Hijinks Festival as planned.  Ironically, all three of the women in this picture were among the crowd that gathered around Jenna just a few moments ago.
8j Liam unaware.jpg

Jenna’s efforts are not in vain as Liam maxes Mischief and completes the Chief of Mischief aspiration at the festival.  He also gets the “air horn” social interaction which he tries out on his brother.  He then convinces Leo to streak.
8k max mischief.jpg

Okay, okay.   I know this makes Liam look incredibly insensitive, but remember that he is unaware that the Grim Reaper made an appearance at the Humor and Hijinks festival.  And when you reach level 10 Mischief, you’ve just got to try out the new social interactions.

Liam is likewise unaware that the Grim Reaper is waiting for Jenna when she and the boys return home.  Again, Liam is sent off to work on a random skill (fishing, maybe?) while Leo stays back with his mother.
8l Really Grim.jpg
Leo is like, “Really, Grim?”

Unfortunately, this means the boys are on their own now.

Liam has two days left until his young adult birthday.

Okay, I can’t really just leave the story hanging there so….double-update time.

Time to Party!

Liam’s last days as a teen are a blur of skilling activity—so much so that not a single picture is taken.  Finally, his birthday notice arrives.  Liam plans the party himself and invites a bunch of friends over.  He even hires a caterer, but all she does is break the stove and make a mess of the counter.  It’s a good thing Leo already baked a cake while his brother was on the phone planning the party.  It’s like Leo knew that the caterer would be useless.
9a party starts.jpg

Since the Wonder Child Challenge does not officially end until the timer runs out on the birthday party, Liam blows out his candles right away.  This gives him time to complete a few more milestones on some random aspirations that require him to “become an adult” or “join the ____ career.”  This all goes on in the background.  Liam, Leo, and their friends just enjoy the party. Well, first Leo cleans the counter that the caterer messed up, but then he enjoys the party.
9b candles.jpg

Liam spins into young adulthood looking rather thoughtful.
9c sparkles.jpg

Leo finishes scrubbing the counter in time to toss some confetti and sing the end of the birthday song to his big brother.
9d Leo sings.jpg

The party earns another gold medal with plenty of time to spare. With all the boxes checked, I sit back and let Liam have some fun.

9f Liam dances.jpg

Oh, I forgot to mention that Liam’s final personality trait is Loner.  His next mission will require him to live by himself for a while, and I don’t want his social needs dropping too fast.  Plus, he’s got the Carefree trait now, so that should cancel out any tense feelings he might get around big crowds.

Also, who is this lovely young lady who seems to have captured the attention of the birthday boy?  Hmm…wheels are turning.
9g Liam hugs.jpg

In conclusion, Liam earns 694 points as a Wonder Child.

Here are his skills and traits for anyone who is interested.

And some thoughts on the Challenge:

Thanks for reading!

Yay! Congratulations, Wonder Child! Liam is quite the accomplished fellow, and is sure to face the apocalypse bravely.
The Humor and Hijinks festival was such a crazy debacle of highs and lows! I was so bummed when Jenna died, and then two seconds later cracking up over Liam daring his brother to streak.
You seemed to do a great job of not only raising a wonderful Wonder Child, but also having a lovely family and a lot of fun in the process. I can't wait to see what Liam gets up to next!

Wow, good job working Grim for more time with the parents!  It's so nice that Jenna made it almost all the way through.  Of course, it's also great that they had Leo so that our wonder child was not left alone.
Hmmm, Liam and his new mystery woman ready to embark on some new adventure?  Sounds good to me!  Looking forward to reading what comes next  :=)

Congrats on completing the Wonder Child Challenge.
Liam will be a wonderful founder for the Apocalypse Challenge.
My only surprise was that you didn't raise Liam's Gourmet Cooking skill to Level 8.
(Did you read in the Apocalypse Challenge Support thread about how @HelenP raised her Gourmet Cooking for the Chef career?)

It was a blast reading about the family! I will never delete Joe from MyLibrary again!
And have you already started your Apocalypse Challenge? Will be looking forward to reading about it.
By the way, why did you hide your "Thoughts" under a spoiler?
Those of us who have followed your story will of course want to know what you thought about the experience.

So glad you decided to share your story with us! <3

Wow. I looked at the list of skills and I wouldn't dare try to beat that without a home club. I reckon Liam has excelled. :)
It is a little thing of my own. I call it "Heart Foam". I shall not publish it. Farewell! Patience, Patience, farewell!
