The Riffin Household
« on: April 26, 2020, 05:32:59 PM »
hello everybody on this rainy sunday! hope everybody is safe and healthy!

i was wondering if any of you guys ever played the riffin household from appaloosa plains? i just downloaded the 2020 sunset valley world and am trying them out. i tried in the appaloosa plains world before, but never finished that save. was wondering if you ever played the older brother calvin and what did you do with his life? i think this is a sad family and i would like to give them a great life. i plan to have calvin quit working at the graveyard because of his coward trait, and maybe give him the brave trait and have him become a writer. what have you guys done if anything with this family?

I've never played them but I played a daughter Calvin had with Oriole Bird in AP, so he was a father-in-law to my other sim. If StoryProgression's notifications told me anything, he had a normal life aside from having to pay Oriole a lot of child support and getting jailed for missing payments once. I would have pegged him as a more devoted family man but considering he lost his parents and had to raise his siblings, he's allowed just a few bad decisions. Considering how writing is also stressful, maybe you can find a fun way for him to de-stress too.

I'm also moving this to Towns and Townies.

i am so sorry for repeating this question. i asked about the riffin household earlier but the question doesn't seem to be coming up here so i know i am repeating myself but i really would like to know what anybody has done with this family; i am trying to play them in the sunset valley 2020 world and am thinking of having calvin quit the graveyard job since he has the coward trait and focus on writing and become a writer. was  also thinking of giving him the inheritance lifetime reward and pretend that they received a life insurance from the parents' death. and have him focus on raising his siblings this way. i was wondering what other players may have done with this family to get some ideas for gameplay. hope to get an answer soon. it will be interesting to see gameplay ideas from others.

again sorry for reposting this question

be safe everybody!

trip that is an interesting story! i didn't think child support could be handled but i guess yeah maybe! also calvin has the surrounded by family lifetime wish so yeah you'd think he would be a better dad. go figure huh?

anyway right now i am playing him in sunset valley vanilla 2020 and i have given him the inheritance lifetime reward so he could quit the graveyard job and stay home to raise his siblings. he just wrote his first book and i changed the lifetime wish to professional author. i am trying to step out of my normal way of playing which has become a bit boring. at the moment, i am having fun with this family but i am not used to taking care of more than one sim. this is a family of 4 including the dog. thanks so much for replying and be safe!

The Riffins are the extended family of my Alvi clan through marriage. But I haven't played them per se. They seem like nice and down-to-earth folks.
