MAC issues
« on: August 06, 2016, 05:30:22 AM »
So a few days ago I installed The Sims 3. Then I got the digital download of Pets expansion pack. All worked fine. I did download some Mods from the Sims Recourse - Glass Walls - these worked fine in the game.

Then I installed two 'stuff' packs - Town Life and Master Suite.

When I clicked the Sims icon to play it would bounce in the dock, but not open and then quit.

Then I started getting an error message:'Exception raised' unhanded page fault etc

So I uninstalled both 'stuff' packs.

Now the same error message comes up when I try and open The Sims 3 with just my Pet's expansion when it worked fine before.

I have tried to go onto terminal and purge ram. I deleted the 'transgame' files etc.

Still won't work :(

iMac specs:

Processor: 3.06Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory - 8GB
Graphics - ATI Radeon HD 4670 25g GB and about 900GB free

I'm gutted as I had worked hard on a house and to be honest if I have to do a clean reinstall might not bother.

Oh and I have also cleared my Sims 3 Cache.

I did read this:

https://bluebellflora.com/resetting-ram-during-gameplay/

but it didn't seem to help me. I am running OSX El Capitan

The link below talks about purging ram and clearing cache. It sounds like both have been done.

BluebellFlora might be able to help as she has tons of helpful information.

And we have post that has some helpful links as well.
