Canning station pickles return to cucumbers?

I made pickles with the canning station, as usual 3 jars where made. I saw an interaction on the jars to open them, they become cucumbers again. I put cucumbers in the canning station clicked ''make preserves''. Everything went great, the jars said pickles, as soon as I opened the jar, cucumbers where added to my Sims inventory. I'm confused, is this a bug or was the canning station programmed to revert items back to their original state? I'm assuming a bug, hopefully.

I don't have an answer to your question, sorry. But, where do you get a canning station in sims 3? I've never heard of that part of the game.

I got the set that the canning station was part of from the Sims 3 store as I wanted the plants. I place the canning station in my kitchen, as well as the tea time setting, (I also like the stairs that come with it) and while I've made a few of the preserves/jams/etc I've never opened them, so I'm not sure. However, I'd hope that what's happened to you is a bug. I'll try opening some of the ones I've made and let you know.
