Pet adoption social worker doesn't come

I've seen others have this problem, but the solutions they were offered haven't worked so far in my game.

So basically, my sims can call to adopt a pet, go through the process, get the notification that the pet will arrive soon, and the social worker never comes. After about 2-3 in-game hours the adoption is canceled and I can try again, so it's not stuck, at least. I've tried resetting the entire town, resetting this lot, evicting the family and putting them back in the home, I'm just not sure where to go from here.

Please forgive me for suggesting things that have already been tried.

If/when this happens again, you might try resetting the household/town, to see if that helps. Something else that might be useful is clearing the game cache.

I'm having the same problem except that mine is stuck so I cannot ask for a pet again. I have the Nraas Master Command center and was told I should simply reset the town. But  how do I do that? the only mod I have under the MCC is debugger. Do I need a different one? Please help me out here..I don't want to lose everything but I DO want a cat!!! Thanks so much for any advice!

I tried re-setting the town. It didn't help. I tried to evict, but it said you can't evict when a social worker is on the way. I wish there was a way to uninstall the Pets and then re-install. Do you know of a way?

A couple of things to try first before a reinstall.

1. Try to repair the game first. -- Repair Game - You can repair packs and the base game separately.

In Origin > My Games Tab: Right-click on whatever pack you want to and select Repair Game. Then go back to Base Game, and right-click on it and select Repair Game.

If either of these options don't work, you can uninstall Pets via the Control Panel > Uninstall a Program, then repair game again to have Origin download it and install it.

If you do uninstall/reinstall Pets it's highly recommended to run Ccleaner's registry cleaner to help clean up files that get left behind in the registry after an uninstall.
