Sims 3 Carnival
« on: November 06, 2010, 08:46:37 PM »
I decided to try to make a carnival on TS3. It didn't really work out, though, but I got to say; it turned out better than I thought it would.

Sorry that it is cut off like that, I took the picture wrong.
I didn't take a picture of all the places, but here is a brief overview:
  • Haunted House
  • Fun House Cafe (picture below)
  • Face Painting Area
  • Play Area
  • Photo Area
  • Cafe
  • Maze
  • Souvenir Sale

For the haunted house, I made 3 rooms. The first room had skeletons and a bunch of gnomes. (Gnome attack) The next room was a mini graveyard. I used buydebug and put remains in there. The last room was a wrecked car and junk and then the sims would get out. I used classical music in there.

For the maze, I used a stone fence. I put a pool at the end so the sims would be tempted to get there.

For the face painting area, I put chairs and mirrors and sims would "Change Appearance" and I would out costume makeup on them.

For the fun house room/cafe I used moveobjects on and put the most expensive mirrors (the really big ones) on all the walls.

For the souvenir sale I put awnings against the normal cafe's walls and put tables, and using buydebug I put toys and decorations on them. Sims were not able to take them home, thankfully, as they are not smart enough to get their toys of a table. The cafe is sofas and a fridge.

And finally, for the Photo Area, I just put some neat statues there. I got some pretty good pictures on the sims' phones.

Here is a picture of the fun house room:

I wish that there were real carnivals!

That looks awesome, sydney! I wish I could make a carnival, but I don't have the patience to build anything... TT.TT

It's quite easy, just need to plan it out. I drew it out on some graph paper.

I like the idea and the creativity you've put in it, but maybe you should change the floor so it fits every attraction you've made. Also, a fence around the whole lot could give it some nice touch, so when your sim walk in they actually 'enter' the carnival area.
What type had you've given to the lot? A park, for example?
Don't forget to build toilets in the area. If sims like the lot a lot, they will obviously spent a whole day out there.
In the fun house I think I would enjoy seeing some balloons and bright colored furniture, wallpaper, floor and seling to give it that extra carnival touch.

Have you already thought about a secured area with animals in it? Like butterflies and fishes in a swiming pool? If you know how to use 'buydebug' you could really knock yourself out with it. :)

For the rest, good job. I will notify this topic. :)

Leto - There was a bathroom. I hadn't thought of the fence and butterflies, though. I am planning to make a new, better one soon.
