Aspiration and Careers
« on: June 20, 2016, 05:59:09 PM »
My sim fulfilled his bodybuilding aspiration so I chose a different one. He was doing so well at his job as an athlete but with this new aspiration, comes a new job. I am not sure if I should have let him keep his athlete job or the second job, a chef. I'm just not sure how the two are related now.

I don't swap jobs to complete aspirations usually. I just keep swapping aspirations around to farm satisfaction points. There are many points you can gain from the various aspirations while keeping your sim just in one career.

If you do want to swap careers but the Connected reward first as this means your sim will start each career at level 4.  :)

I do aspirations as far as you can, before a career is required. As you get the points, you can get rewards, that will greatly help for other aspirations. The "No Sleep" one seems to be the most effective. I try baking, until it requires me to throw a party. Then, I try painting. No career is required for painting. The musical one makes sense, until it asks you to write a song. Athletic makes sense, as a next step. If you've been keeping up with painting, and your career, up to this point, you will probably have enough wealth, to autocomplete the majority of the "Fabulously Wealthy" one. Try completing that one. If you've been upgrading your house all this time, then Mansion Baron makes sense, as the next step. This should give you enough points, to make your Sim's life a lot more efficient & enjoyable. You might try Gardening, after that. Follow it up to the cowplant phase, unless you happen to have berries on you. The rest? Salt to taste. The others might take some time to complete. Just choose them according to your career, if you like.

Thanks. My mother sim is creative so I have her working as a musician and learning all the instruments. She has fulfilled her first aspiration which was musical genius. Now she is working on writing. My dad sim is an active and is a bodybuilder. There is not another aspiration for that so I made his next one a master chef. He will work on being a Mixologist next. The have three kids and each is working on their aspirations. As the finish one, I choose a different one. I certainly keep them all busy with different activities. It is quite entertaining.

Mansion Baron, and Fabulously Wealthy seem to be the easiest to fulfill. If you have enough money, then Fabulously Wealthy will pretty much instantly autocomplete, giving you instant points, for something good. If your house is good, it will also nearly instantly complete. You may have to add a few more windows, trees, and columns, but as long as you've invested a lot in your house, you're probably close to completing that, if you've been playing for a while. The REALLY nice thing is, if one Sim in your household passes, the others will too, for Mansion Baron. For Fabulously wealthy, they will mostly pass, but the final part depends on individual earnings. The rest is household wealth.

Cool. I had to change his aspiration from chef to painter because he would have had to change jobs. I thought about the Mansion Baron, but I have not helped them with any money. I don't use cheat code too often. I am determined to not use any on this family. I have thought about doing a dynasty challenge and I, though I have tried, someone always dies too soon or a disaster happens and ya, there goes my dynasty, lol. last time my computer crashed. I had to wait 2 years before I could afford a new one. Sometimes life just sucks, lol

Most likely, if you complete the Painter aspiration, your Sim will have painted enough paintings, to have earned enough to complete a good portion of Mansion Baron. That is, provided that you have made your Sim "Marketable".

Or, actually, I meant "Fabulously Wealthy" It's strictly based on how much money you have, and how much you've earned. If you've completed other aspirations, you probably have some money saved up, and probably have earned enough to complete that aspiration. Nerd Brain is one you can also complete, without changing careers. This will allow you to make instant repairs. (near instant)

That's funny because that is the next one I'm gong to have him work on. He does most of the repairs around the house, lol. I am slowly building up their house. I have used some of the kids drawings and his paintings to decorate.
