Another Perfect Genetics Legacy
« on: November 03, 2016, 07:29:59 PM »

Avery Rosen was his mother's son.  He had the same skin color, hair color, and eye color, just like she had wanted in the first place, and it had taken seven other children before him before she had finally gotten what she wanted.  Being the second generation of a challenge was... challenging, to say the least.  He didn't like kids any more than his mother did, and he was supposed to have a lot of them as well?  He sighed a little to himself, he didn't know what he was going to do, but that was alright, at least he was in a new town, away from his mother, father, and seven siblings.  The only problem was, he didn't know anyone.

That's where Constance came in.  He met her at the library one day and the two hit it off perfectly, she reminded him of his father, Conner, from Sunset Valley, the town he'd been born and raised in.  They both wanted to write with their lives, and that was alright by him, at least that meant she could stay home with the kids while he worked on becoming the top investigator in town.

He asked her to marry him and she readily agreed, she seemed excited about the prospect of having lots of children, and she hoped they would have to have several of them before he got what he wanted, but secretly she worried what he would think of the others.  She knew about his mother, she didn't work well with children and neither would Avery if all indications were to be believed.  She sighed at herself a little, what was she going to do with her child hating husband?

Being an investigator was great work, though a lot of people seemed to notice he was sneaking around at night and performing stakeouts.  He supposed that was due to being the only yellow-skinned person in Riverview at the moment.  Hopefully that would change once Constance started popping out babies though.  Disgusting.  At least he had a reason to be out of the house though, given his new profession.

Constance went into labor not long after they were married and had their first child, Benny.  Avery was hopeful they had already had an heir to the family, seeing as he had orange skin like he did, but Constance pointed out the wisps of black hair coming out of his head, and the eyes that were more green like hers than yellow like his.  He was disappointed, but they could always try again.

He was still happy he had a reason to be out of the house, what with an infant and a pregnant Constance running around, trying to write while taking care of their son.  It wasn't like he really had to do anything with them, she had the whole situation under control he was sure.

Being out an about was the only way he could keep his sanity, even though it was part of his legacy, he couldn't wait to be rid of the little vermin he'd somehow spawned with his wife, and he hoped it wasn't going to take long for him to get an heir out of Constance, even if he had to force feed her a youth potion in order to do it.  That's what his mother had ended up doing, and he was sure they were going to have to do it as well.

At least Constance knew what she was getting into with Avery, and she happily taught their oldest son everything he needed to know about life.  She adored the little man, and while she was pregnant with their third set of children, she taught him everything he needed to know.  She had given birth to a set of twins, Benjamin and Bernadette, and her husband had been thrilled when Bernadette had been born with yellow skin like him, and her eyes were yellow as well, but tufts of black hair poked out of the top of her head, of course they were going to have to try again.

I always feel for families who have lots of kids and a parent with the dislikes children trait. It does make for interesting drama, though! And your sim looks pretty cool. Connor's features on a fiery sim like that are a neat mix. Looking forward to seeing how the kids look!

I thought those might be Connor Frio's features too. Even if they're not, still. They're not that much different.  ::)

Yep, those are Conner's alright!  I'm glad you're reading it, this has been fun to play so far.  I thought I lost the files for a little while there though, glad they reappeared when I opened the game back up!

---------------------------------

Constance found out she was pregnant again by her computer, and of course he was out of the house again, working toward his goal of finishing up 35 Investigator cases in his lifetime.  That was only part of the reason though, with three kids in the house and more on the way, it was like trying to tiptoe around time bombs for him.  Constance loved the kids, he was... well, he was indifferent.  Just wait until they were older, he thought to himself, it'll get better.

She took up most of the time on the computer, pumping out book after book in record timing, so he'd had to buy his own computer to work on his case files with.  It was something he kind of resented, in a way, but at least they had to money to fun another top of the line computer and desk for himself, just outside of their bedroom.

The twins became toddlers much too quickly, they were much too mobile for Avery to be comfortable with at the moment, so he used his time wisely and stayed out of the house.  Constance was beginning to resent him, just a little bit, while he got to go out and ignore the children, she was stuck in the house with all three of them, plus the pregnancy, and she barely had time to work on her newest book with all the teaching she had to do!

Mister Perfect, as Constance was starting to call him, even though he could still be romantic with her (how else had he managed to talk her into having so many children?), had become a top Investigator in town and was now spending more time in the house now that his cases had dried up a little bit.  He was miserable in the house, but she managed to talk him into working with the kids a little.  Avery preferred to stay on his own though, and barely gave his wife any help with the new set of twins, Brandon and Brenda.  He'd been excited about them, they were both born with orange skin, like him, but Brandon had tufts of blond hair popping out of his head, and Brenda's was brown, nothing like his.

Avery spent most of his time at his chess table, working toward raises for himself so he could earn a little more money every week.  They were bringing in quite a bit from Constance's books, it was their main source of income, but he still preferred to think that his was the more important job.  All she did was write pretty words in various orders and call it a day, he made a difference out in the world.

Constance just sighed, she could do this on her own, she knew her husband thought his job was important.  She could handle the kids on her own, it wasn't like she hadn't been on her own before she had met him, now she had the kids though, and none of them were the heir he was looking for.  They would have to keep trying no matter what, but at least she had known what she was getting into when they had met.

She did manage to talk Avery into tutoring their oldest child, and hoped she could convince him to tutor all the others as well so they could grow up well and get out of the house.  That was the ringer that did him in, he was all for getting the kids out of the house as soon as they possibly could.

Bennie grew up enough to where Avery was alright tutoring him no matter what happened.  At least it was better than when he was a little whiney kid.  Avery was pleased that his children were starting to grow up, he didn't know what he was going to do with all of the snot nosed little brats.

Though Constance had bullied him into tutoring his younger children at the same time.  Just being around them made his skin crawl, but what else was he going to do with things?  He wanted them out of there as fast as he could, so he was just going to have to suffer through it, he supposed.

Constance found out she was pregnant again by her trusty computer while Avery tutored the kids.  She hoped they would have an heir soon, all of these pregnancies and birthday parties were starting to get to her and she didn't know what else she was going to do about anything.  Giving a little sigh, she rubbed her belly for a moment before going back to her book, she didn't know what she was going to do.

Avery bought a chemistry station and started working toward learning how to make a Young Again Potion, just in case they didn't have an heir before the both of them grew too old.  He wasn't feeling too confident about things at least.  He just didn't know what he was going to do about things!

His children were growing up bit by bit, and he was happy to kick them out of the house in the order they were born.  He was surprised none of them had any kids of their own yet though, not that he really cared one way or another, but at least he wasn't going to have to deal with the little brats just yet.  Still, it was odd and he didn't understand why that was, it wasn't like they weren't out dating, he got calls from them almost every day with updates on what was going on with their lives.

Slowly his own age started to creep up on him and he was happy he had figured out how to make a Young Again Potion, though he didn't need it just yet.  Being an adult was scary enough, but at least he wasn't a kid again, he hated his own youth as much as he hated his children's youth.

He took more of an interest in his children's upbringing lately, getting them out of the house so they could have more children was priority one for him at the moment, and so he let Constance work on her books to bring in more money as he taught his children everything they needed to know to grow up into a fine Sim.  He still didn't like it, but at least he was getting a little better with it no matter what.

Much to his surprise, Billy was born!  He had the right skin, the right eyes, and even the same color hair tufting out of his head!  It was a miracle, he wouldn't have to have any more children after this, Billy was going to have to carry the torch as the third generation of this family, and Avery wasn't jealous of him at all, he'd had his own run as heir, he'd had enough at the moment.  At least the golden child was here though, and he was going to teach all of his skills to him personally to make sure there weren't any mess ups.

Much to his surprise, he didn't mind teaching his child any of his skills, it was quite pleasant actually!  Surprisingly, he went along with things as much as he could while he worked with him, and Billy seemed to learn things rather quickly.  Maybe the boy was taking after his old man after all!

Glad he got the heir he wanted! Hopefully he won't hate children as much as his father since he has to carry on the family tradition.

Sorry it's taken so long to get the next chapter up!

-------------------------------------

Avery taught his son everything he needed to know about the family and their goal, Billy wasn't too impressed, it seemed like he was shaping up to not like kids just like his dad.  At least he was a teenager now though, he had that much going for him.

Billy grew up quickly thanks to his father's tutoring, and he grew up into a fine young man.  Not a lot could be said of him, though he was a good guy who just happened to not like kids.  Kind of odd, wasn't it?  He sighed a little to himself though, he had to get out of Riverview and go somewhere else, all of his fourteen siblings had kind of taken over the town, he needed somewhere fresh to start off with.

Enter Twinbrook and Gala Ball.  She was one of the first people he had met in the town and he knew from his father's teachings that he needed to start having kids right away if he was going to get an heir quickly.  He didn't want to have as many kids as his father had, that was... a little much.  Gala willingly accepted and heard everything about the family's mission and was willing to help.  Billy had a feeling his children weren't going to have as much luck as he and his father had getting a partner in all of this, but he wasn't going to look this in the mouth or anything, it... wasn't going to be pretty in the future.

Their first child was a daughter named Caitlyn.  She had the eyes and the hair, but not the skin.  He was so close he could feel it, he wasn't going to have so many kids as his father had and it was going to be great!  Now if he could just get through these kids...

And then it happened.  Gala gave birth to twins, and one was actually the heir!  Caleb was perfect, the skin, the hair, the eyes, he was just a little chubby, which he didn't understand, but that would be alright.  Poor Cody was kind of pushed to the side.

So the next generation is in Twinbrook! Cool.

Out of curiosity, is the dislikes children trait part of the challenge, or is that just a story element?  I don't know anything about this challenge, so sorry if that's an obvious question.

It's part of the rules according to some sites, but you don't really need it.
