Time Jumps Ahead After Loading Save
« on: June 16, 2016, 09:09:49 AM »
Hello,

Lately I notice something weird: when I save a game around 5/ 6 am in sim time (so that they are all sleeping and when I load the game I can get them ready for work/school), it has jumped ahead in time when I load the game. Yesterday I saved it around 5/ 6 am in sim time (also paused the game to make sure it won't super speed any further) and when I started the game again they were almost an hour late for school/work and they had all woken up. (so it was around 9 am). This is quite dangerous for me because it almost caused my heir for the IDC to lose a day of school, which would cause me to fail. I'm not sure wheter this is a bug or something that happens because the game continues to 'play' when you are saving it?

Is there anyone else with this problem?

I've been having problems with time still going even after paused.  My recommendation is to try it one more time with at least one person awake, then pause and save.  Almost every loading screen I go through my Sims move on without me unless I was lucky enough to have a good pause but that only ever works sometimes.

What's your loading times like?  Are they taking longer than they used to?

They take longer than they used to, I also sometimes notice a delay when I pause my game (it takes a few seconds before it pauses) or when I try to go to speed 2 or 3 and back to 1, it doesn't go faster or doesn't stop immediately.

Thank you for the tip, I'll try that.

I'm afraid it has something to do with the fact that I've played this save for quite some time (IDC on gen. 4). So maybe it's a similar problem as with the sims 3? When I played the legacy challenge I started having problems around gen. 6 / 7 because I played the save for so long and more and more problems occured. I hope it's not for the same reasons since I like to play one save for a long time.
However I must say it just started recently, after the patch from June 2 maybe? Not sure about that.

The Sims 4 has a 'soft save' which means for the player that behind the loading screen the game is positioning your sims into a suitable activity that relates to their mood. There should be about a 10 sim minute difference between exiting and restarting your game. (More than an hour sounds excessive though!)

@Ricalynn game continuing to run even though paused has been linked to large personal inventories.  :) I get it all the time with my scientists sims but usually clearing out a few stacks and then deleting the localthumbcache.package file sorts it for a while.
